FUNK GROUP, Germany goes ahead with two strategical acquisitions

We are proud to announce that the acquisition of Böhm Employee Benefits Consultants and Böhm Insurance Brokers (Böhm) has been closed and become retroactively effective as per 01.01.2006. Two independent firms with comparable business culture and complementary competence have found together.
"These are exciting news and will allow us to achieve a strategical goal for the Funk Group to become a leader in the growing field of Employee Benefit Consultancy in Europe besides our traditional focus on corporate property/casualty business", said Claudius Jochheim. He will lead the merged team of over 100 EB-experts within the Funk Group together with his colleagues Matthias Edelmann and Dirk Scheurich from Böhm.
"There is great opportunity out there in the markets throughout Europe particularly in the restructuring of existing and the design of new corporate pension schemes, international harmonization requirements for global companies and the information management related to running such schemes. We have invested and want now to take our share" said Matthias Edelmann.
Böhm has a stronghold in the IT-Fortune 100 sector, thus taking care of many alphabet companies of this global industry in which people are the key asset of a company, much more than anywhere else.
"We are very much welcoming the addition of Böhm as part of our group. The combination of our knowledge base and market access forms an excellent platform to expand our EBbusiness also in conjunction with our international network. This acquisition has been a welcome opportunity but will not alter our general business model which is clearly based on organic growth," said Leberecht Funk.
In addition we are happy to announce that the Funk Group has expanded its activities into Romania through a majority acquisition of RIMIS Broker and RIMIS Consultants seated in Bucharest to be renamend Funk International Romania. Before the end of this year new offices will be opened in the regional centers Constanta and Temeschwar to provide proximate services and to participate in the local businesses.
The Funk Group has in Europe a staff of 820 in 27 offices and 7 European countries. Commission/ Fee income has grown to over US$ 120 Mill.
