Funk Group strategic partnership with Swiss Broker GWP Insurance Brokers AGThe Funk Group, Germany s largest independent insurance broker, has taken a further step towards Europeanization and underpins its cooperation with GWP by forming a strategic partnership.
Hamburg, 2008-06-13 - The Funk Group has completed a deal by which the company has become a major shareholder of Swiss GWP Insurance Brokers AG. This reinforces the existing successful cooperation.
"The partnership with GWP brings two parties together who match perfectly. Both companies belong to the top league of brokers in their respective countries and have a good match of their corporate culture and client portfolio", says Dr. Leberecht Funk, CEO of the Funk Group, who is going to join the strategic board of GWP.
GWP is the third largest insurance broker in Switzerland. More than 50 employees are operating in offices in Basel, Luzern, St.Gallen and Zurich. Together with the Funk Group both brokers have a dispose of 880 employees in 31 offices throughout Europe.
The Funk Group is the largest independent insurance broker and risk consultant in Germany. Founded in 1879 in Berlin, the company today has more than 830 employees in 27 offices in Europe. The Funk Alliance, the international network of service partners, is present in more than 70 countries worldwide.
